The Forest Beginner’s Guide
Feel free to include and modify any of the information in this the forest walkthrough Guide to make it better in the future!
Overview
The Forest is difficult and varied. The players will not just need to protect themselves from the dangers of the mutant and also fight hunger or Fatigue, Thirst, and Temperature. Every player has an extremely handy Survival Guide that can be accessed at any moment by pressing the ‘B’ button (or up if you are playing with PS4.) The Survival Guide can instruct players how to build shelters, create structures, and create fires and other details, like the safest foods to eat and which foods can be toxic. If you use the survival guide, the game will continue. The player must be aware of the scenario before using the guide. To ensure that the game has not been interrupted, you can use Escape.
Survival 101
Once the person is capable of moving after his plane crash, he must carry a wide range of things located around and inside the plane that has been damaged. Food, drinks, pills, food items, and even the plane’s axe can be found inside the plane, and suitcases containing snacks, clothing, and sodas can be found outside. Beware, within a couple of minutes following that crash, the cannibals will look surrounding the plane. At this point, the battle against the enemies completely depends on the individual, but it’s prudent to stay in hiding until they go away or escape to a safer area.
As night draws near, the player is advised to construct an appropriate shelter that can be constructed with the help of the survival guide and then click that icon on the item which the player would like to build. It is the responsibility of the player to construct the shelter and locate the resources needed to build it. Some trees need to be removed, and some rocks should also be discovered. When the shelter is finished and the player is safe, they should explore the woods, whether in search of water, food, weapons, or a safe place. If cannibals attack the person, they could get knocked unconscious and dragged underground in the dark cave. When the victim reaches the cave’s exit and cannot find their way out, they could be separated from the airfield.
Tips & Tricks
Be vigilant at all times of the day, as small groups of cannibals scouting are often observed. To stay clear of natives, ensure it is a daily routine to stay clear of open spaces and stay clear of burning fires, particularly during the evening. Natives are more active during the evening and may look for visible flames even though they are scared by the light (fires signal them to the player’s presence, but they generally remain away from lighting).
It is important to note that natives will react to the presence of a player. They have often seen scouting places that contain traps, buildings, puppets, fires, and traps. The more impact the player has on the surrounding area, the more natives will be aware. They’ll also become more aggressive when they see the player’s intrusion. A large fortress with fires and effigies will result in frequent attacks and the appearance of more deadly indigenous creatures such as the spider-mutant.
You can regain your stamina by eating food or sleeping, listening to the radio, or relaxing on a bench made of wood and drinking cans of soda to get an instant boost in stamina. However, they’re only small and should be used only in an emergency.

Various Strategies
- Big Fortress
This strategy of survival is the most evident. The player builds a massive base populated with traps, defense walls, puppets, and defensive walls (if they are sane enough to allow access to the menu of puppets) and then fires to repel and eliminate as many mutants as they can. It’s a good strategy. However, mutants are more aggressive when exposed to this method, and attacks from mutants will develop into small-scale assaults with potentially dangerous enemies such as the spider mutant. This strategy requires a substantial amount of planning and effort.
- Stealth and Hiding
This is a more difficult approach but also more satisfying in terms of duration. This strategy has two variants: remaining active and staying away from mutants.
The wood-covered walls can also prevent them from snooping around with the lights at night.
The mobile approach is based on ‘leaving no trace.’ This means that mutants can only track down the player if the player follows predictable patterns of movement or just one place to sleep. This is a great way to elude mutants, but it makes it hard to meet the basic needs of survival. The mutants won’t be more aggressive in this method.
- Distance solution
Distance solutions are the concept of being as far from the mutant guards and patrols as possible. The challenge with this method is finding the best place. If the person is too inaccessible, they cannot access items. When the character is in an open area, mutants can see his flames. The best spot is near trees and bushes that can be used for items, but it is also mostly from the view. Many spots on the coast, particularly close to the boat, fulfill these requirements. If you spot the presence of a patrol near you after returning to the base, be sure to stay clear of trees and bushes.
- Mini-Island Approach
It’s the same Map is the same. However, the location of the spawn can be irregular. If you’re fortunate enough to get spawned in the area highlighted, there’s an incline and a shore below. Continue to cut down leaves and sticks (for bonfires and some of the elements needed for a raft), chop down the logs, and then push them along into the water (for making the raft). Create a raft to eliminate the shark’s jaw, which is dangerous. A wooden holder and stick holder can be put on a raft, giving ample space and comfort when traveling through the ocean. After your raft has been constructed, you can find the nearest small island. The island is where turtles produce eggs in large quantities at night and release meat, and it is very long before it gets rotten (maybe three to four days).
Additionally, turtle shells can be used as collectors for water, the most reliable source of clean water. You can also boil the water in a kettle and drink it. During the day, you can gather sources like sticks, logs, and even leaves from the Forest to create an evening fire and keep warm in the winter months when it rains. In the evening, gather the meat by removing turtles that spawn on the mini-island. Cook their flesh. This method is the most effective and safest since food shortages are never an issue, and mutant attack is impossible since mutants can’t swim.

The Forest – Best Main Base Locations
Are the most suitable locations for your base? In my guide, I give specific information on where the patrol routes for Cannibals and Mutants are. The Forest step-by-step guide will help you beat your opponent.
This walkthrough will shed light on the more difficult features involved in The Forest and provide you with a step-by-step list of the things you should accomplish to win the game. Be aware that because the Forest is an open-world sandbox, there are many different ways to play. The information in this guide is my personal view and is based on all the details I’ve learned from playing for a few weeks.
Before doing anything within The Forest, consider what kind of experience you want to provide yourself. Suppose you’re looking to be on high alert and keep the natives of the island pestering the players at their Main Base. In that case, you’ll want to establish your base in an advanced location. Those who prefer peace and a tranquil Main Base away from danger should build in a less intimidating place.
1. Set up a central base to store your supplies and be secure
2. Explore some of the easy caves to find equipment such as that of the Katana, Chainsaw, and Modern Bow
3. (Optional) (Optional): Create one or two additional bases (or houses boats) on opposite sides of the island so that you can have safe areas to rest/save. Base Location Ideas
4. (Optional) Create a “Battle Bunker’ to farm Bones in a Cannibal Patrol route

The Forest – All 4 Hidden Blueprint Locations
The Map is hidden within The Forest. There are 4 additional Blueprint pages to locate. These pages allow you to design a unique decoration for your base and the possibility of a Glider and a Tower to utilize the Glider. Also, you’ll be able to create a Log Track that allows you to travel over a large distance using the help of your Turtle Shell.
