Hollow Knight: Where To Find Every Map
Hollow Knight is a surprisingly huge area to explore for a place awash with insect life. As players advance in their journey, they’ll be able to discover new areas of Hallownest with more challenging levels. Hollow Knight players are also likely to encounter numerous NPCs during their travels that they could interact with.
In the group of characters is a seller known as Cornifer, One of the first people the player will encounter after jumping into the well of Dartmouth. Cornier is a cartographer. He can be found in every central area in Hallownest, where players can purchase maps from Conifer. Cornifer’s location is communicated to players through his humming, and when they are closer to him, a physical paper trail leads directly to the mapmaker.
Suppose players spot Cornifer but do not purchase maps before moving to the next zone in the following area. In that case, the NPC leaves with a card directing gamers back towards Dartmouth, where players can purchase his maps and other markers at Iselda. To avoid the hassle of traveling back and forth, here’s where you can locate Cornifer in each of the areas of Hallownest.
Ancient Basin
Two ways are available to access the Ancient Basin: using one of the southernmost Trams between Deepnest and the Kingdom’s Edge or traveling to and through the Royal Waterways. In either scenario, players must walk up to the Tram platform to begin their journey—the Tram platform to advance.
On the Tram platform, players can enter an exit to the left. It will take them into the central chamber in the Ancient Basin, with numerous Shadow Creepers crawling around and climbing walls. To the right, several paths branch off, including a fountain that gives a Vessel Fragment after depositing 3000 Geo. Just below that fountain can run through the friendly humming mapmaker.
City Of Tears
The first moment players will enter the City of Tears will be when they go out to the outskirts to use the City Crest, restoring the bridge connecting City and Fungal Wastes. The short path from this entry point to the location of Cornifer is blocked, meaning players must go south until they get to the proper city.
When you reach the bottom, that leads left will lead the players to the Nailsmith, who will improve the Knight’s nails. Going to the right before arriving at Hornet near the fountain, players can take an elevator to reach Relic Seeker Lemm, who will purchase relics from the person they’ve amassed during their journey.
As they ascend from Lemm, The player will have to battle against various enemies while ascending to the top, most of them guarding objects, Geo, and other objects of collectibility. Utilizing the elevators and Mantis Claw to travel, players will encounter a familiar piece of paper. After following this path in the dark, the knights will find themselves stuck in a small arena with a heavy Winged Lance who must be defeated to unlock the gates. Cornifer is in the room to the left, next to an unlocked bench. Through the players, up to 150m to open the gates.
Crystal Peak
The players can access Crystal Peak through the Forgotten Crossroads, located east of the Black Egg Temple. Still, they’ll require to use the Lumafly Lantern to see through the darkness and communicate with a machine to pay. The players must spend fifty Geo to unlock the path to the next part of the.
When inside the Crystal Peak, players must take the path towards the right over the conveyor belts and then over the wide gap. There will be Husk Miners who use their tools to attack the Knight when they come in or utilize their picks to create an axe for slashing. Before entering this room, players will locate a bench to the room’s left.
By using the Mantis Claw to climb up and down, players can take the vertical belt until there is a patrolling Glimback before continuing their climb. On the way to the summit, players will find the Grub; however, it’s locked behind a gate. The next room is home to several Crystal Crawlers that intermittently shoot dangerous lasers to be avoided while players continue their climb. After the room is cleared, there’s an exit on the left, where players can walk to see Cornifer singing happily.
Deepness
There are two locations in Deepnest where the Knight may meet Cornifer based on their chosen entrance. However, Cornifer won’t be singing to avoid sharing his location with the crawlies in the region. It is suggested to use a Lumafly Lantern to make navigating in the dark a lot more comfortable.
If players go to Deepnest after beating The Mantis Lords in the Fungal Wastes in the Fungal Wastes, Cornifer is hiding behind a ledge while players continue on the left side and upwards to the right from where they entered. But, if they come through to the Queen’s Gardens to the north, they must go south and then leave to locate Cornifer close to the failed Tramway.
Fog Canyon
While getting into a portion of Fog Canyon early in the game’s play is possible, the players won’t be allowed to explore its fullest until later. There are two routes to get to Cornifer, and the player must be able to unlock one of them, either Shade Cloak or Isma’s Tear, to reach the creature.
If approaching the Cornifer’s location from the left, players can access the room via the Greenpath or ascending from Queen’s Station. A pathway that branches off to the left in the central column-like region in the Fog Canyon will lead into a room that is stocked with acid pools as well as platforms and Uomas. As the player travels through the area, they’ll be capable of hearing Cornifer; however, the Shade Gate blocks the path. With the help of the Shade Cloak, players can sprint across to the Shade Gate and find the route to Conifer.
The second option requires Isma’s Tear to go through a tiny acid pool directly before Leg Eater’s spot within the Fungal Wastes. It will lead players directly into the Fog Canyon, where they will move to the left before reaching the room where Cornifer is hiding in the corner.
Forgotten Crossroads
This is the first time players will meet Cornifer, and it is also one of the most accessible spots to spot Cornifer in the area of his birthplace.
When you ascend in the well from Dartmouth and then head to the left, go into the spacious room with suspended platforms and Gruzzers, Crawlids, and Tiktiks. The players will have to get to the bottom of this section and stay clear of hazards while they descend, then go through the hole at the bottom. Cornifer is located within the room, to the left.
Fungal Wastes
As with other areas of Hallownest, players can enter the Fungal Wastes from different directions. After winning against Hornet and the False Knight, False Knight, and the Hornet players can quickly head toward The Fungal Wastes to reach The City of Tears.
In the direction of the southeast end of Greenpath, the players will have to go through a tiny section of Fog Canyon before coming to The Queen’s Station. The station is located to the right. At the top of the station can continue to the left to discover The Fungal Wastes and Conifer is located in the lower part of the path towards the left.
If they instead go to The Fungal Wastes after leaving The Forgotten Crossroads, they will be required to take the south side and turn towards the left. In this area, there is a battle between two Shrumal Ogres who will let the gates open. They must proceed down the stairs, past the Sporgs, which are projectile-spitting Sporgs, and then turn left, avoiding acid. They must follow the familiar sound of Cornifer’s humming when they come closer to him.
Greenpath
Players can access Greenpath after they’ve acquired their primary spells from the Snail Shaman within the Ancestral Mound. The entry point to Greenpath is south of the Grubfathers’ home within the Forgotten Crossroads, through another route that runs off on the left.
Utilizing the Vengeful Spirit, players can overcome The Elder Baldur that blocks the path and turn left to get into Greenpath. The path through Greenpath is relatively straightforward compared to other regions of Hallownest, as players encounter Hornet in the process, which is not precisely leading players to Conifer.
Once they have followed the path to the left as far as possible, the players must go downwards and begin heading towards the right. Cornifer is located in a small part of Greenpath, with Volatile Mosskin and Squits guarding the area, along with platforms that can be cut to allow for better navigation shortly.
Howling Cliffs
The players will require the Mantis Claw to reach the Howling Cliffs, which can be found by climbing back along the wall to the left side of Dartmouth and returning through King’s Pass. Return to the room the Knight arrives in after the opening cutscene. Go left to discover a secret path that leads into the Howling Cliffs. While this area can be reached via Greenpath, players will have to use the Mantis Claw to proceed.
About halfway down the cliffs, in addition to an encounter with another among the Nailmaster brothers, Cornifer can also be sketching away on one of the trails which lead toward the right.
Kingdom’s Edge
There are a variety of ways to get to enter the Kingdom’s Edge. The fastest method to get to Cornifer is via the City of Tears, specifically the King’s Station. The room is located directly beneath the Stag Station platform that the Knight can access. There is an old platform with broken benches and two Vengeflies on the left.
If players plunge into the tiny pool of water and then continue to the left, they will discover an exit to a secluded section of the town center. Please beware of the Belfies when they plunge toward the Knight and continue their journey toward the left. The players can also free the stuck Grub in this area along the journey.
A route player could lead directly to The Tower of Love; however, it needs a Love Key to open the route, and the entrance to Kingdom’s Edge will lead the players farther away from Conifer.
When players have made their way to the Kingdom’s Edge, Cornifer will be beneath them in a secret space along the wall to the left. With Mantis Claw Mantis Claw, players can slide safely down the wall until they reach one of the two platforms, between which lies the secret entryway where the mapmaker will be located.

Queen’s Gardens
The easiest way to access the Queen’s Gardens is through the Fog Canyon; players need Isma’s Tear to reach it. Starting from The Queen’s Station, players can access the Fog Canyon and then ascend through the area, using Uomas and Oomas, moving Uomas or Oomas until they reach the first route that runs towards the left. There will be an acid pit and spikes. However, with the help of Isma’s Tear, players can navigate through the acid and get to Queen’s Gardens.
Keep going left until you come across one of the initial Mantis Petra. This path is up to Stag Station, but the route is blocked until the players reach the switch. Therefore they have to continue until now. The players must go down to the section with temporary platforms until reaching the bottom before turning to the right. In the following part, players will get into a short encounter with further Mantis Petras. The escape route is locked until the final battle is won.
If the players are victorious After the victory, head to the right, and you will see one sheet of paper, along with an announcement with benches. Look for the cartographer who is humming.
Royal Waterways
In the City of Tears, players can find a lock beneath Relic Seeker Lemm’s position. It requires using a simple key to open it up, opening up a pathway that leads to The Royal Waterways. It is highly recommended that players carry at least the Lumafly Lantern before heading into the Royal Waterways to make travel more convenient.
When you have climbed into the hatch, they should make a left and proceed down the lower pathway through those two Pilflips. Instead of walking down to the bench, players should leave and walk across the room using the Hwurmps. To the left of the top, there is a tiny space where you can spot one of the Cornifer’s documents that lead to an area containing Flukemons.
Take the same path and continue on the left but be aware there is a Mask Shard at the lower left of the room with a bigger size. Within the room next to it, players will be locked inside and have to defeat the creatures that appear to open the gates. To the left of the room, players can use the Mantis Claw to climb up to Cornifer, which is perched on the highest platform.
